The Fall 2025 STEM Expo was the most successful recruiting event in Tickle College of Engineering (TCE) history, with attendance and engagement reaching record levels.
Hosted by the Office of Engineering Professional Practice (EPP) and the Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration, the STEM Expo is a bi-annual recruiting event designed for students at the University of Tennessee to meet with companies about internships and co-ops as well as part-time and full-time positions.
This year’s fall event was held September 30 and October 1 at the Knoxville Convention Center. A record 238 companies were in attendance, and the event drew an all-time high 2,280 students, including 2,109 from TCE. More than 13,000 student resumes were shared with companies.
Students from every engineering major, including the new Department of Applied Engineering & Technology, were recruited at the event, with at least 70 companies hiring for each major in the college.
During the expo, students meet one-on-one with prospective employers on the first day, with the second day set aside for students to go through a formal interview process with companies that share a mutual interest in bringing them on board.
“The Fall STEM Expo was an overwhelming success. Employer feedback was immensely positive, citing high student preparedness and excellent alignment with recruiting needs,” said EPP Program Manager Ronni Keene. “The average engagement this year more than tripled the historical baseline, confirming the value of EPP’s preparation model.”
