Computer Methods for Engineering Problem Solving
1 Credit Hour
Catalog Description: Introduction to computer applications used in engineering problem solving and communications. Introduction to programming concepts, including conditional statements and looping, and the development and implementation of logic flow diagrams.
EF 105 introduces you to valuable computing skills that will be used throughout your engineering career. You will learn how to avoid the pesky algebra by using your calculator and computer to solve problems for you. The course will introduce you to Excel, which almost every engineer uses. The course will also introduce you to Matlab, which is an extremely powerful program for use with many engineering problems. The course will also include an introduction of solid modeling, which is used to develop designs for manufacturing, such as 3D printing.
